In early 2025, Mukhija went to judge the YouTube show "India's Got Latent," hosted by comedian Samay Raina. The episode featured podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia and sparked significant backlash due to offensive remarks made during the discussion. The participant of the show standing there made an extremely inappropriate comment about her vagina in front of a live audience. Fuming Apoorva, to defend herself, retaliated. The content was allegedly inappropriate, leading to public trolling and legal scrutiny. As a result, all episodes of the show were removed from YouTube, and both Mukhija and Allahbadia issued written apologies to the National Commission for Women (NCW).

Online Harassment and Return to Social Media

Following the controversy, Mukhija became the target of intense online harassment, including acid attack, rape, and death threats which compelled her to delete all content from her Instagram account. Apoorva's latest video on YouTube, titled ‘Till I say it is’, reveals details about how she met Samay Raina and landed a spot on his show. Apoorva couldn't hold back tears while discussing how this controversy shattered her family members. She apologised to her followers in that video and expressed her regrets by saying

I should have been more mindful, and I truly have learned my lesson.

In the same video, Apoorva also talked about her past experience and claimed that she has been slut-shamed, self-harmed, and hit by a man who she once loved. She also mentioned:

A lot of times in life, people are going to tell you it's over. I used to live in a house that never felt like home for 17 years. I have cried a lot of sleepless nights in that house, I have self-harmed, and I still have the scars, and back then, every day I used to think that it's over.

As a fan of Apoorva Mukhija's content, witnessing her return to social media to address these challenges fills me with immense admiration. In her comeback video, Apoorva candidly shared the emotional turmoil and stated:

I felt so scared.

Her comeback not only signifies personal strength but also sheds light on a broader conversation about the need for safer online environments, especially for women.

Professionally, she appeared in Ibrahim Ali Khan and Khushi Kapoor's Netflix film Nadaaniyan.
