Police said on Saturday that an impressive grenade attack on the Thakurdwara temple in Amritsar's Khandwala area was recorded by the CCTV around midnight on Saturday. Reports confirmed that no injuries were caused as a result of the explosion, which occurred about 12:35 a.m. very early in the morning when everybody was sleeping on March 14-15.

CCTV footage shows two young men on a motorcycle carrying a flag. They briefly stopped outside the temple before hurling an object toward the premises. Moments later, a powerful explosion rocked the area as the attackers fled. The temple priest escaped unhurt, who was inside at that time.

Gursidak and Vishal, the suspects involved in the grenade attack at Amritsar, were engaged in an encounter by the police today in Rajasansi. Accused Gursidak had to succumb to the bullet injury he had suffered during the encounter.

Police say that when SHO Chheharta attempted to stop a motorcycle on which the accused were riding along, they alighted from their bike and opened fire on the police party. Head Constable Gurpreet Singh received a gunshot wound to his left arm, while Inspector Amolak Singh was also struck by a bullet. In the Rajasansi area, on Monday, Gursidik Singha was injured in a shootout with the police in Bal Sachander village close to Sri Guru Ramdas International Airport. He was taken to a civil hospital, and later he died. His accomplice, Vishal, however, managed to escape and police are on the lookout for him.
