Creativity used to be admired - every new episode, every scene, every song, every dialogue used to be important. We paused so we wouldn't miss key plot points. And now... it seems to all be just as fleeting as a tweet!
My new poem is a casual reflection on how consumerism has transformed entertainment, shifting from scheduled shows to binge-watching and viral clips on Netflix and YouTube. Explore how our relationship with creativity has evolved in the digital age, blurring the lines between creator and consumer.
In the glow of screens, we used to wait,
For weekly episodes, a shared fate.
Now, it’s all instant, no need to pause,
A binge in pajamas, no rules, no cause.
Netflix whispers, “Just one more,”
As hours slip and we crave for more.
YouTube’s endless stream, a friend, a guide,
Short clips, viral trends, a wild ride.
Creativity’s shifted, it’s in our palm,
A flood of content, a constant calm.
No longer waiting for the cinema’s call,
We craft, consume, and share it all.
From scripted stories to meme-made art,
The world’s a stage, just press start.
Consumerism in pixels, a new age art,
Where watching’s a habit, and sharing’s a part.
