Mumbai Police Deploys 16,800+ for Ganeshotsav Security! 🚔

Mumbai is gearing up for a safe and joyous Ganeshotsav 2026, thanks to the extensive security arrangements put in place by the Mumbai Police. More than 16,800 police personnel have been strategically deployed across the city, ensuring the safety and smooth conduct of the grand festival.

This massive deployment isn't just about numbers; it includes a robust structure of leadership and specialized units. Seven Additional Commissioners of Police, 37 Deputy Commissioners of Police, and 52 Assistant Commissioners of Police are overseeing the operations, supported by around 2,650 officers and 14,150 policemen.

Further bolstering the security, platoons from the State Reserve Police Force, Quick Response Teams, Riot Control Teams, and Home Guards have been positioned at crucial and sensitive locations throughout Mumbai.

This comprehensive plan aims to manage crowds, traffic, and maintain law and order effectively.

A significant focus of the security plan is on the Ganesh idol immersion days, when large gatherings are expected at major immersion points. The police have made separate, detailed arrangements for these days, deploying additional personnel to handle the anticipated crowds and ensure everyone's safety.

Mumbai Police have also issued a heartfelt appeal to citizens, urging them to remain calm, cooperate with the deployed personnel, especially in crowded areas, and to be vigilant. Public safety is a shared responsibility, and citizens are asked to immediately report any unattended or suspicious objects to the authorities.
