Delhi is gearing up for the AI Impact Summit 2026, a five-day international event from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan. City police have released a traffic advisory to manage crowds, VIP movements, and road closures while keeping the city moving.
Authorities identified major arteries expected to see restrictions during VIP movements: Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg are among routes designated as restricted areas during the summit. Other key corridors such as Janpath, Akbar Road, and Safdarjung Road, along with Sher Shah Road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, and Sardar Patel Marg, will be closely monitored.
For travelers heading to Indira Gandhi International Airport, officials advise using NH-48 and the Sector-22 Dwarka Tunnel. Rail passengers bound for New Delhi, Old Delhi, or Hazrat Nizamuddin stations should stick to Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, and Vande Mataram Marg corridors to reach station areas with minimal delay. Non-Delhi bound vehicles will be diverted to the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways to decongest the city center.
Residents and attendees are urged to plan ahead, check live traffic updates, and factor in extra time. The summit's organizers emphasize safety and smooth travel, noting that some closures may shift with VIP movements.
Officials say the measures are designed to accommodate a global gathering while preserving essential city functions, with rideshare and public transport options encouraged to ease congestion.
