Indian-origin UT Dallas student arrested in Frisco on arson and terror threats
A 22-year-old Indian-origin UT Dallas senior was arrested by Frisco police on arson and terroristic threat charges after a family dispute at home.
A 22-year-old Indian-origin student, Manojh Sai Lella, a senior at the University of Texas at Dallas, was arrested by Frisco police on Monday, December 22, on charges of arson with intent to damage a habitat or place of worship and terroristic threat against a family member.
Police were called to Lella’s home after family members reported a mental health episode and alleged threats. Authorities said he allegedly tried to set the home on fire several days earlier. Bond was set at $100,000 for the arson charge and $3,500 for the terroristic-threat charge, according to court documents.
Authorities stressed there is no evidence of a threat to a place of worship. The case remains an active investigation under Texas law, and Lella remains in custody pending further proceedings.
