Bitcoin pulls back near $87K as gold and stocks rally
Bitcoin eases from October highs while gold, silver and equities rise, signaling a cautious market ahead.
Bitcoin has eased to around $87,556, slipping about 1.2% in 24 hours from October’s peak, even as gold, silver and stock markets push higher. The move comes amid year-end liquidity thinning and ongoing macro uncertainties that have investors weighing risk more carefully.
Ethereum also slipped, trading near $2,934, down about 0.9%, while major altcoins like BNB, Solana, Tron, Cardano and Hyperliquid were up roughly 4% over the past day. In contrast, XRP and Dogecoin showed modest declines of 0.83% and 2.37%, respectively.
Analysts say the retreat isn’t a typical flight to safety but a repositioning as traders adjust their exposure in light of geopolitical tensions, signs of a slowing U.S. economy and persistent trade frictions. The broader crypto market has pulled back from October’s highs even as traditional assets like gold and equities continue to climb.
Over the past week, Bitcoin and Ethereum were down again, while several major altcoins posted mixed to stronger gains. Nischal Shetty, founder of WazirX, noted that price action has remained within a relatively narrow range near key levels as markets digest recent gains.
Looking ahead, the trajectory for Bitcoin will likely hinge on macro signals and spillovers from gold and stock markets, with traders awaiting clearer directional cues from global markets.
