In contrast, other water sports in the state were suspended on the same day as officials heeded the wind alerts.

The latest casualty updates place two more bodies recovered from the reservoir near Bargi Dam: Viraj Soni, 4, and Tamil, 5. Six members of the Soni family from Darhai village were aboard the ship, with four survivors reported so far. The body of Viraj’s mother, Nisha, had been found earlier, and Tamil’s father and cousin remain among those listed as missing. By the latest tallies, the toll includes eight women and three children. Four people remain missing as search operations entered a third day.
The tragedy has sparked intense public scrutiny and calls for accountability. Authorities have promised investigations and a review of safety protocols to prevent a repeat of such a lapse.
