Olympic Champ Adam Peaty: Baby Girl Has Made Me 'Grow Up' 🍼

Olympic champion swimmer Adam Peaty has shared his profound excitement and personal growth spurred by the impending arrival of his first child with wife Holly Ramsay. The 31-year-old, a decorated athlete with six Olympic medals, including three golds, revealed in an interview with BBC Breakfast that becoming a father again has prompted him to “grow up.”

The couple, who tied the knot in a lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey in December, announced in June that they are expecting a baby girl. Peaty is already a father to a five-year-old son from a previous relationship with artist Eirianedd Munro.

Reflecting on his wedding day, Peaty described it as “one of the best days of my life.” He fondly recalled seeing Holly walk down the aisle, a moment he says is indelibly etched in his memory. “It’s almost like I’ve got a snapshot in my brain, and the music in the church was just incredible,” he shared.

Peaty also spoke warmly about his famous father-in-law, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, calling his presence “an incredible blessing.” His excitement for fatherhood was palpable. “I’m incredibly excited. For me, that role of being a father has been just incredible. To have another human in this world that loves and cherishes you, I think it’s the biggest blessing,” he expressed.

He emphasized that his love for his children wouldn't be judged by medals, and his primary concern during Holly's pregnancy is her and the baby's health and happiness. This perspective, he noted, further motivates him to mature. The couple reportedly met through Holly’s sister Tilly during their time on the BBC dancing programme Strictly Come Dancing in 2021. It was also noted that Peaty and his parents, Caroline and Mark Peaty, had a highly publicised falling out ahead of his and Holly’s December wedding.
