The MEA emphasized that instead of making "baseless allegations," Pakistan should "look inwards" and cease using terrorism as a state policy. This firm response comes after Pakistani reports attempted to implicate India in the incident that saw militants target a paramilitary headquarters in the bustling city, resulting in casualties.
Adding to the complexities, the militant group Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, a splinter faction of the Pakistani Taliban, had already claimed responsibility for the attack shortly after it occurred. India's stance underscores its consistent position against state-sponsored terrorism and its call for Pakistan to take credible action against terror groups operating from its soil.
Pakistan, on its part, has vowed retaliation for the attack and has previously conducted strikes in Afghanistan, which Kabul has denied any involvement in.
