Adani Group Unveils Ambitious 10-Year Vision for India's Growth & Infrastructure
Gautam Adani details the Adani Group's transformative decade-long vision for India, focusing on infrastructure, technology, and worker welfare. Discover their strategic shift towards efficiency, partnership, and massive
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, recently addressed shareholders at Adani Enterprises Ltd’s Annual General Meeting, outlining a bold vision for the conglomerate's trajectory over the next decade. This ambitious roadmap includes significant investments in India's core infrastructure, technological advancement, and a renewed focus on organizational efficiency and worker welfare.
Adani highlighted three foundational steps the Group is taking to execute its grand vision. Firstly, a major organizational restructuring is underway to simplify operations. This involves implementing a three-layer structure across headquarters and operational sites to reduce bureaucracy, enhance accountability, and bring decision-making closer to the point of execution. Crucially, non-core activities will be strategically moved to Global Capacity Centres (GCCs) or outsourced to nominated third-party partners, ensuring every role and process adds significant value.
Secondly, the Group is redefining its relationship with contractors, viewing them as long-term partners in nation-building. This new approach aims to foster deeper, more stable partnerships where contractors' growth is supported, their margins are protected, and their interests are closely aligned with Adani's own. The goal is to deliver projects with greater speed, quality, and a stronger sense of ownership.
Thirdly, and perhaps most commendably, worker dignity is being placed at the heart of the Group’s transformation. Adani emphasized a commitment to ensuring every worker, especially the nearly 85% of their 4 lakh-strong workforce who operate on the ground, is treated with utmost dignity. This commitment translates into providing clean living conditions, hygienic food, access to medical support, safe working environments, and fair wages paid on time. This comprehensive approach to employee welfare underscores a holistic vision for growth.
Financially, the Adani Group made a record capital investment of over ₹1.5 lakh crore in hard infrastructure during FY 25-26. This monumental investment alone represented more than 30% of India's total new private-sector capital expenditure for the period, demonstrating the Group's significant role in national development. Looking ahead, Adani Power aims to achieve an impressive 45 GW of generation capacity over the next five years. Furthermore, the Group is actively building a substantial 3 GW data center platform and has ambitious plans for 10 GW of nuclear energy capacity, signalling a strong push into high-tech and sustainable energy sectors. The opening of Mundra Airport for scheduled commercial flights to four cities also exemplifies their ongoing commitment to expanding critical infrastructure nationwide.
