Spurs Face Double Injury Scare Ahead of Everton Clash
Tottenham hit with fresh injury doubts for key players Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie ahead of their crucial Premier League encounter with Everton. Read the latest update!
Tottenham Hotspur are grappling with a significant double injury scare as key defenders Pedro Porro and Destiny Udogie are both doubtful for their upcoming Premier League showdown against Everton.
The news comes as a blow for the North London club, with both players having started last week's goalless draw away at Nottingham Forest. Udogie was notably substituted just after the hour mark in that game, with his minutes being carefully managed by the club's medical staff.
The Spurs head coach confirmed the concerns during his pre-match press conference on Friday. Addressing Porro's situation, he stated,
Pedro Porro felt a small muscular problem, we have to see tomorrow if he's available or not but in this moment I don't want to take any risks. The same (with) Udogie.
He elaborated on the delicate management required for both players: "Pedro Porro and Udogie are similar players because one, Pedro played a World Cup, a long World Cup and we already knew after the World Cup it could be a difficult management for him. For Udogie, last season (he) suffered many injuries, he played 60 minutes in Nottingham and we have to manage also Destiny in the best way we can."
This update contrasts with some positive news regarding James Maddison, who the head coach confirmed is in contention for a return to action, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the defensive worries. The team lineup for the Everton match, which kicks off at 5:30 PM BST in north London, will be announced at 4:15 PM BST.
A victory for Tottenham in this crucial fixture would see them move within a single point of their opponents, highlighting the importance of securing a positive result despite the potential absences.
