Florida Woman Charged After Shots Fired at Rihanna's Beverly Hills Home

A 35-year-old Florida woman has been charged with attempted murder after she allegedly fired 10 shots toward Rihanna's Beverly Hills home on Sunday. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz was charged on Tuesday with one count of attempted murder, 10 counts of assault on a person with a semiautomatic firearm and three counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling, all felonies. Officials said no one was injured in the incident.

Rihanna, her partner A$AP Rocky, their three children, and Rihanna’s mother were at the property at the time of the shooting, according to prosecutors. Investigators believe Ortiz drove to Los Angeles from Florida, though the timing of her travel remains unclear. Her most recent address was Orlando, and she has worked as a licensed speech pathologist for more than a decade, according to the Associated Press. Authorities have not said whether Ortiz has any connection to Rihanna or her family, and the motive for the shooting remains unclear. Ortiz’s arraignment was postponed until March 25, and she was ordered held in jail on a $1.8 million bail.

Earlier reporting noted Rihanna’s properties have faced stalkers and security concerns, including a previous incident in 2018 when a man entered another Rihanna residence in the Hollywood Hills. The Los Angeles district attorney’s office has not disclosed a motive, and it’s unclear whether Ortiz’s case is related to prior security concerns surrounding Rihanna’s home.
