The government of Telangana has requested that the bodies be buried in Jannat-ul-Baqi, a historic cemetery revered in Islam, and officials here say they are optimistic Saudi authorities will honor the request. The burial is expected to take place on Friday, after the post-afternoon prayers, once relevant reports and permissions are in place.
For the families left behind, relief arrangements are being rolled out. Two members from the family of each victim will be put up at a hotel, and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has announced a relief of ₹5 lakh for each bereaved family. The swift support aims to ease the burden during this tragic time.
A high-level delegation led by the Andhra Governor is traveling to Saudi Arabia to oversee relief measures and coordinate with local authorities. In parallel, officials here say paperwork ahead of the burial—such as NOC from kin and DNA testing—needs to be completed before rites proceed, highlighting the careful steps being taken to honor the victims properly.
Officials emphasize that every effort will be made to ensure dignified rites and robust support for the families as they navigate this difficult period.
