The Hobby Trap: Is Your Hobby Actually an Unpaid Job?

They become another item on the to-do list, another deadline looming.

What if we allowed some things to exist purely for joy? Imagine a world where you could paint a wonky landscape just because the colors spoke to you, not because it might sell. Or bake a cake that collapses, but you still eat it because it was fun to try. Where writing is simply an exploration of thought, unbound by algorithms or engagement rates.

This isn't about knocking entrepreneurs. It's about recognizing that not every corner of our lives needs to be optimized for productivity or profit. It's about reclaiming the sacred space of personal interest, the quiet rebellion of doing something purely for the sheer, unadulterated pleasure of it.
