The much-anticipated film ‘Ramayana’ has officially kicked off its promotional journey with a grand event in Delhi, setting the stage for its worldwide release this Diwali. The star-studded affair saw lead actor Ranbir Kapoor, who portrays Lord Rama, alongside veteran actor Arun Govil, playing King Dasharatha. Govil famously brought Rama to life in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic 1987 television series.
During the event, Ranbir Kapoor shared a heartfelt moment, expressing his gratitude and admiration for Arun Govil. "Sir, you’ve presented this responsibility for so many years with such honesty, beauty, and dignity," Ranbir said, addressing his on-screen father and predecessor. He added that Govil's journey has inspired countless individuals, including himself, hoping to achieve even a fraction of the impact Govil had as Rama.
The event, hosted by popular poet and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) founding member Kumar Vishwas, offered intriguing insights into the actors' preparation. Vishwas revealed that both Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, who plays Sita, approached their roles with remarkable innocence. Ranbir, in particular, would frequently reach out to Vishwas for guidance when facing dilemmas during filming. He even recalled a profound question he posed to Vishwas: "Is Rama a god or human?" Vishwas, in turn, reassured him to trust in Rama. Sai Pallavi also reportedly meditated to prepare for her role as Sita, showcasing the depth of commitment from the lead actors. The promotional event also saw appearances from Yash and Sunny Deol, adding to the buzz surrounding this epic cinematic endeavor.
