Rocky Horror Legend Tim Curry Dies at 80, Tributes Pour In

Stars of stage and screen across the globe are mourning the passing of the iconic British actor Tim Curry, who has died peacefully at the age of 80. Best known for his unforgettable portrayal of the zany, cross-dressing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," Curry's passing marks the end of an illustrious career that spanned six decades.

Oscar-winner Susan Sarandon, who starred alongside Curry as Janet Weiss in the cult classic film, led the tributes, expressing profound admiration. "What I loved about him most was his heart," Sarandon shared, also describing him as "a funny, sexy, original." Her sentiments echoed a widespread appreciation for his unique talent and charisma.

Curry's longtime manager and friend, Marcia Hurwitz, confirmed he passed away peacefully at his home in Toluca Lake, Los Angeles, on Tuesday, August 25.

He had been using a wheelchair since suffering a major stroke in 2012.

I feel like the head of our family has just died because he was the head of the Rocky Horror family.

Welsh actor Luke Evans, who himself played Frank-N-Furter in a Broadway revival, lauded Curry as "a force, a bright fierce flame, an exquisite charm," acknowledging his fearlessness and the enduring legacy he created.
