Gurugram Schools Shut as Bomb Threat Emails Trigger Safety Sweep
Gurugram private schools suspend classes after bomb threat emails; police, dog squads and bomb experts sweep campuses with no hazards found yet.
On Wednesday morning, at least four prominent private schools in Gurugram received bomb threat emails, prompting suspension of classes for the day. The emails targeted Heritage Xperiential Learning School in Sector 62 and other institutions, and school officials informed parents that safety remained the priority.
Gurugram Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said teams including dog squads and bomb detection experts were rushed to the affected campuses, and an FIR is being registered in connection with the matter. The Grade XII Board Practical examination at Heritage Xperiential Learning School, scheduled for Wednesday, was postponed in light of the threats.
Students who had already boarded school buses were sent back home, while others were asked to be picked up by parents; bus services were suspended to prevent panic. Searches of school premises, classrooms, buildings, and surrounding areas yielded no suspicious objects or explosive materials so far.
Authorities noted that cyber experts are being consulted to verify the email’s authenticity, source, and sender identity, with the broader law-and-order situation described as under control. Investigations continue as security agencies review the threat.
The incident underscores the importance of coordinated safety protocols in schools and the need for ongoing vigilance while officials pursue leads.
