Ariana Grande Slams Team Trump Over Song Use & “False Truth”
Pop superstar Ariana Grande blasts Team Trump for unauthorized song use in a controversial TikTok. She calls out their “false truth” in a fiery social media stand.
Pop superstar Ariana Grande has once again publicly expressed her displeasure with the use of her music by Team Trump, this time taking aim at a TikTok video featuring her song “We Can’t Be Friends (Wait For Your Love).” The track, from her 2024 album ‘Eternal Sunshine,’ was used over a clip of Donald Trump approaching a podium, accompanied by text stating: “Me and my truth we sit in silence… Men can’t have babies and should never compete in women’s sports.” Team Trump captioned the post with “This shouldn’t be controversial! #trump #arianagrande #maga.”
Grande quickly responded in the comments section, issuing a firm directive: “Never use my music again. Also, your truth is false.” This incident, occurring on August 21st, 2026, marks another instance where the pop icon has pushed back against political entities utilizing her art without her consent, especially from the Trump camp.
It's not the first time Grande has had to address such an issue. Earlier in June, she criticized the White House for using her song ‘Bye’ in a video depicting ICE agents detaining individuals, labeling the footage as “barbaric, inhumane” and explicitly telling the administration not to associate her music with it.
Grande's political leanings have been consistently clear. During the 2024 presidential election, she openly supported Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. Following Trump’s historic victory for a second term, Grande shared her feelings of “immeasurable heaviness” with those who felt similarly. Her activism extends further back, having urged fans in 2022 to “reject him [Trump] with everything you have” when he announced his intention to run for president again. In 2020, she also voiced her concerns over the composition of presidential candidates, calling out the prevalence of “straight, white, old” individuals and questioning the fairness of the situation.
