The Delhi government will continue its 'No PUC, No Fuel' policy for vehicles even after the GRAP-IV restrictions end, with strict enforcement of anti-pollution measures. No vehicle will be allowed to operate in the city without a valid Pollution Under Control certificate, the government asserted. In addition, ₹100 crore has been earmarked for rejuvenation of water bodies across Delhi, underscoring a broader push toward environmental restoration amid ongoing pollution concerns.
Twelve PUC certificate centers were found to be involved in irregularities. They have been suspended and will be blacklisted, with a clear message that irregular conduct will not be tolerated. Authorities also said all PUC centers will undergo verification to ensure compliance, and no one engaging in malpractice will be spared. Four new vehicle emission testing centers have been approved, and permission has been granted to open additional commercial vehicle testing facilities to boost testing capacity and transparency.
Even as policy measures tighten, air quality data from the Central Pollution Control Board indicates Delhi’s air remains in the 'severe' category. The authorities noted the deterioration as of Tuesday, December 23, 2025, highlighting the urgent need for ongoing enforcement and public adherence to emission norms. This multi-pronged approach reflects the government’s commitment to curb pollution while expanding infrastructure for testing and environmental restoration.
