India's star badminton duo, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, have scripted history in Singapore! In a thrilling men's doubles final, the world No. 4 pair fought back from a game down to clinch their maiden Singapore Open title. They defeated Indonesia's Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri in a high-octane match that kept fans on the edge of their seats for over an hour.

The victory is a monumental one for Indian badminton, as Satwik and Chirag became the first-ever Indians to win the doubles title at this prestigious BWF Super 750 tournament. After dropping a closely contested opening game 18-21, the duo showed incredible grit and intensity to take the next two games 21-17 and 21-16. This win marks their ninth career World Tour crown and their third Super 750 title.

Before this triumph, the Asian Games and Commonwealth Games champions had been through a bit of a dry spell. While they had reached four finals since their last trophy win at the 2024 Thailand Open, they had finished as runners-up in all of them.
