An overnight attack on Sumy injured 11 residents, including four children, Ukrainian emergency services reported. The Sumy region, which borders Russia, has faced constant drone and missile strikes. Officials said a residential multi-storey building, private houses and infrastructure facilities were hit, and a railway depot was attacked with several carriages destroyed and surrounding buildings damaged.
Beyond Sumy, Ukraine said the broader assault involved hundreds of drones and missiles, triggering power outages across the country and damaging energy infrastructure. In the western region of Lviv, two energy facilities were damaged, contributing to outages reported across the country.
Authorities urged residents to stay safe as rescue teams work to reach affected neighborhoods, underscoring the ongoing civilian toll of the conflict.
