New Delhi gears up for a five-day AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, with police traffic advisories and VIP-route restrictions to ease access.
New Delhi is set to host one of the world’s most consequential technology gatherings as the India AI Impact Summit 2026 unfolds from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam. The five-day international event aims to bring together policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to discuss the future of artificial intelligence and its welfare implications for all. The city’s security and mobility networks are gearing up to ensure smooth movements for delegates while minimizing disruption for residents.
In preparation, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory outlining restricted routes and detours tied to VIP movements and summit activities. Among the measures, Mathura Road and Bhairon Marg are identified as restricted during VIP movements, with several other corridors slated for traffic management. Travelers and residents are urged to plan ahead to avoid the central areas where the event will concentrate.
Specific routes highlighted in the advisory include Janpath, Akbar Road, Safdarjung Road, Sher Shah Road, Subramania Bharti Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Teen Murti Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, and Sardar Patel Marg. Additional considerations cover Firoz Shah Road, Shanti Path, and Satya Marg as portions may experience enhanced security presence and restricted access at various times.
For those arriving by air, officials suggest using NH-48 and the Sector-22 Dwarka tunnel to reach the airport perimeter with minimal delays. Rail passengers traveling to New Delhi, Old Delhi, or Hazrat Nizamuddin stations should follow the Ring Road, Ashram Chowk, and Vande Mataram Marg corridors to navigate toward the central districts more efficiently. Non-Delhi bound vehicles are expected to be diverted toward the Eastern and Western Peripheral Expressways to decongest the city center.
