The skies over Jodhpur are buzzing with activity as India and Japan continue their joint air exercise, 'Veer Guardian', a significant step in strengthening the strategic defense partnership between the two nations. Indian Air Force (IAF) chief A.P.
Singh recently extended a warm welcome to his Japanese counterpart, Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) chief Gen Takehiro Morita, highlighting the growing trust and shared commitment to peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region. This high-level meeting reinforces the synergy developed from their previous discussions.
The combat exercise, which saw the arrival of JASDF F-2 fighter jets and 110 personnel in Jodhpur on September 8th, is designed to enhance interoperability and sharpen the skills of both air forces.
The IAF's media coordination centre emphasized that these drills aim to take the Indo-Japan defense partnership to greater heights.
Beyond the strategic objectives, the exercise has also fostered cultural exchange.
Japanese airmen participating in the drills have reportedly praised their Indian experience, specifically mentioning their enjoyment of Yoga sessions and the “super delicious” Indian curry.
This positive feedback adds a unique human-interest element to the military cooperation, showcasing the camaraderie built during the joint exercise.
