The Last Dinner Party release studio version of Big Dog with new poem
London band The Last Dinner Party drop a studio version of Big Dog paired with the spoken-word piece Come All You Beasts, amid touring and charity efforts.
The Last Dinner Party, a London-formed quartet, have released a studio version of their fan-favourite Big Dog, marking their first production credit alongside Animesh Raval. The track has long been a live staple, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its official studio treatment. Come All You Beasts, a spoken-word piece that the band regularly recites before performing Big Dog live, accompanies the release. Bassist Georgia Davies explains that the piece was written to introduce the folkloric and storytelling elements of From the Pyre to Big Dog, with themes that interpolate Bible verses to subvert prescriptive messages about women’s safety.
The release lands as the group press on with a US headline tour that runs through mid-June. Back home, they’ve lined up a string of festival and headlining appearances, including Isle of Wight Festival, TRNSMT, Latitude, and a Wolf Alice support slot at Finsbury Park, plus their first festival headline at Wilderness. European summer dates are also on the slate. Earlier this year, the band was announced as a support act for Olivia Rodrigo on her Unravelled Tour in Los Angeles and New York for January and February 2027, with all eight dates already sold out. They previously supported Rodrigo at BST Hyde Park in June 2025.
Beyond live performances, The Last Dinner Party’s Ribbons for Provisions project has continued to drive charitable work, raising nearly £50,000 for food banks across the UK and Europe, and over $40,000 in the US, while the band remains active on their current US tour.
