Meanwhile, in Iran, air raid sirens wailed across central Tehran, and a fire was reported at Mehrabad International Airport, indicating the widespread nature of the conflict.

International leaders have condemned the attacks and urged both sides to exercise "maximum restraint" to prevent a full-scale war.
