The Adani Group is set to significantly bolster India's defence capabilities and generate substantial employment with the laying of the foundation stone for a new ₹2,500 crore defence manufacturing plant in Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh. The ceremony, held on Sunday, July 5, 2026, was attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav and Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.
This state-of-the-art facility, established by Adani Defence and Aerospace, a subsidiary of the Adani Group, will specialize in the manufacturing of missiles and propellants. It is projected to create more than 4,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities for the people of the region, marking a major boost for local economic development.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, addressing the public event, highlighted the historical strength and patriotic spirit of the Chambal region. "This land of Chambal has been demonstrating its strength for centuries. The valiant warriors, soldiers, officers, and citizens from this region risk their lives to defend the nation at the borders. Whenever Chambal has stepped forward, it has sung a new song of patriotism," he stated. Yadav expressed his delight at this new chapter in history, emphasizing that the missiles manufactured in Shivpuri would "travel long distances to strike enemy territory, thereby enhancing India’s honour and prestige." He proudly added, "Today, this dream of ours is also becoming a reality."
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia lauded Chief Minister Yadav's efforts in attracting investors, underscoring the growing confidence in the state's economic environment. Scindia noted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, under Yadav's leadership, has successfully won the trust of investors, facilitating rapid development across Madhya Pradesh. Jeet Adani, representing the Adani Group's young leadership, echoed these sentiments, describing the day as special and confirming that "mission-ready" missiles would be produced at the facility.
Beyond the defence plant, CM Yadav also announced other significant development projects for the area. These include a ₹120 crore road project connecting Shivpuri to a national highway and the establishment of a cardiology unit within the Shrimant Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Medical College. These initiatives collectively underscore a broader vision for progress and infrastructure improvement in Shivpuri and the surrounding regions. The Adani Group's investment, according to Scindia, is not just in a specific project but a testament to the state's overall advancement.
