VA Prosecutor Reviews ICE Agent Pointing Gun at Woman in Parking Lot
Fairfax County prosecutor is reviewing footage of an ICE agent pointing a gun at Carolina Molina in a parking lot. Molina denies agents' claims she tried to run them over. Full story on the intense confrontation in Falls
An intense encounter in Fairfax County, Virginia, has drawn the attention of the chief prosecutor, who is now reviewing footage of an ICE agent pointing a gun at a woman in a parking lot. The incident, which occurred on Monday in Falls Church, about 10 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., involved Carolina Molina, a licensed personal counselor, and ICE agents.
Molina stated that she was distributing business cards at lawyers' offices when she observed agents making arrests. She admitted to yelling profanities out her car window, shouting, "You're a hoe, you f***ed up." Shortly after, dashcam and cellphone videos show ICE vehicles strategically blocking Molina's car, both in front and behind. A masked agent then approached her driver's-side window with a gun drawn.
The agent was heard on video asking Molina, "Are you following us?" to which she denied. He then warned her, "You need to stop following us. This is your warning," and accused her of nearly running them over. Molina vehemently denied this claim, responding, "I didn't almost run you over. You're so full of s***." The agent then escalated, yelling, "Stop playing. Alright? You're not being funny. I will arrest you; keep it up."
Carolina Molina has consistently denied both following and threatening the agents. She explained that she drove in a circle around the parking lot before turning around, her intention being to avoid ICE agents following her into an immigration lawyer's office, especially if an immigrant client was inside. The Fairfax County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office confirmed they are reviewing the incident after hearing concerns from community members. Laura Birnbaum, the public information officer for the office, stated, "We are aware of the incident and are reviewing it."
