PM Modi launches Reform Express, hands out 61,000 govt job letters

From New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi described India's path as a 'reform express' aimed at making life and business easier, while announcing a major Rozgar Mela held across 45 locations. The event showcased new momentum in connecting youth with skills, employment, and self-employment opportunities, as the government pushes for faster reforms.
In a video conference addressing the 18th Rozgar Mela, Modi handed over 61,000 government appointment letters electronically, calling them an 'Invitation Letter for Nation Building' and a 'resolution letter' toward a Developed India. He framed the moment as a key step in moving government recruitment into mission mode and urged the new appointees to contribute to nation-building.
He outlined policy measures designed to strengthen the link between youth and opportunities, including support for small enterprises, firm-level incentives, budget provisions, and a national policy to upskill workers. The prime minister stressed that many of the youth will strengthen national security, empower the education and health care ecosystems, reinforce financial services and energy security, and help drive the growth of public sector enterprises.
Modi also highlighted bilateral trade and mobility agreements with several nations, underscoring that India—one of the youngest countries in the world—creates opportunities for its youth both at home and abroad. These reforms aim to make life and business easier, with GST and labour reforms among the highlighted measures to streamline processes and improve working conditions.
Looking ahead, the Rozgar Mela is positioned as part of a broader reform agenda intended to empower the next generation, expand economic activity, and reinforce the country’s development trajectory.
