DMK chief M.K. Stalin fiercely criticizes CM C. Joseph Vijay, calling him an 'actor Chief Minister' and his government a 'corporate mafia.' Accusations fly over a forced by-election, 'horse-trading,' and mismanagement. G
In a fiery address, DMK president M.K.
Stalin launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister C.
Joseph Vijay, labeling him an “actor Chief Minister” who has turned into a “villain” by orchestrating a by-election for selfish gains.
Stalin, campaigning for the DMK's candidate S. Suganya in the Dharapuram (Reserved) constituency, accused the TVK government of engaging in “horse-trading” and committing a “murder of democracy.” Stalin emphasized that the by-election was an unnecessary burden on taxpayers, rendering votes cast only months prior “infructuous.” He urged the electorate to seize this opportunity to “teach a lesson” to the TVK by electing a trustworthy candidate.
He specifically highlighted TVK candidate Sathyabama's defection from the AIADMK as a “somersault,” insinuating foul play and "horse-trading." Mocking CM Vijay as 'CM Sir' and 'Bro,' Stalin claimed the Chief Minister had merely shifted his 'yelling' performances from film sets to public appearances, all while shying away from media cameras. Stalin also alleged that the TVK government was subservient to the BJP, stating that CM Vijay himself had admitted the TVK was a “branch of the BJP.” Furthermore, he accused Vijay of breaching Assembly decorum by mocking his MISA incarceration, imploring him to behave like a “Chief Minister” and not a “Cheap Minister.” The DMK president didn't stop there, characterizing the TVK not as a political party, but as a “corporate mafia” with working, sleeping, and secret partners, all bent on destroying Tamil Nadu.
He cited examples such as the “surreptitious sale” of tickets for the Arulmigu Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple consecration in Madurai and the controversial plan to construct a new Assembly Complex in Pattinapakkam for ₹1,200 crore despite the state's precarious financial situation. Stalin also raised concerns about law and order, claiming that informants on drug peddling were being murdered, and that incidents of sexual abuse, lock-up deaths, and honour killings had surged.
Economically, he stated that industrial investments were making a “U-turn” towards Andhra Pradesh.
He warned voters that a TVK victory would lead to increases in registration tax, milk prices, and transport fares.
Stalin concluded by urging citizens to vote for the DMK to put an end to “MLA shopping” and redirect the government's focus towards genuine governance, stating, “Don't listen to your children, vote for DMK to safeguard their future.”", "city": "Chennai
