Haryana Schools Under Fire: CJP Demands Answers on Infra, Teacher Gaps!

The Citizens for Justice and Peace (CJP) has sharply criticized the state of government schools across India, particularly highlighting significant deficiencies in infrastructure, teacher availability, and digital access. The organization has sent a comprehensive letter with six key questions to education ministers nationwide, urging immediate action and greater transparency regarding school conditions.

Abhijeet Dipke of CJP voiced serious concerns, emphasizing the shocking reality that even 80 years after independence, many government schools still lack basic necessities like safe drinking water and functional washrooms. He asserted that children are being "treated worse than animals" due to these abysmal conditions, stating unequivocally that no child should be forced to study in such environments.

Following visits by CJP activists to schools in Haryana, which allegedly exposed severe infrastructure gaps and poor meal quality, the Haryana Education Minister, Mahipal Dhanda, has taken a firm stance. He announced that unauthorized entry will no longer be permitted in government schools, stating that the safety of students cannot be compromised for "political publicity." This move appears to be a direct response to the CJP's inspections and subsequent allegations, aiming to control access to school premises.

CJP's inquiries to the education ministers focus on crucial areas: the current status of school repairs, the number of teacher vacancies, and the availability of digital access for students. These questions aim to push state governments for greater accountability and prompt action in addressing the long-standing issues plaguing the public education system.
