Lana Del Rey has released her new track ‘First Light’, the official theme for the upcoming James Bond video game 007: First Light. The game, developed by IO Interactive, will tell an original origin story for 007 and features Patrick Gibson as James Bond alongside a starry cast including Lenny Kravitz, Priyanga Burford, Alastair Mackenzie, Kiera Lester, Noemie Nakia and Lennie James. The title arrives next month for Xbox, PlayStation and PC, with the Nintendo Switch 2 version delayed until later this year. Del Rey’s collaboration with Bond veteran David Arnold—known for Casino Royale and Tomorrow Never Dies—brings a fresh yet unmistakably Bond-esque sound to the project.
IO Interactive boss Hakan Abrak praised the pairing, saying, “Bond’s return to gaming is a landmark moment for us at IO Interactive, and having a title song of this quality makes it even more special.” Arnold added that the track’s elegance and atmosphere help open Bond’s world to a new audience, while Del Rey aims to give listeners a distinct voice that fits the game’s world. The track was released today, April 16, and sits in the long tradition of memorable Bond songs that define the franchise’s musical identity.
As fans await the game’s May 27 launch on major platforms, 007: First Light promises an immersive, character-driven origin story that expands the Bond universe into interactive storytelling.
