SBI Q3 Profit Up 13% to ₹21,317 Crore on Solid Performance
State Bank of India posts a 13% rise in Q3 consolidated net profit to ₹21,317 crore, with robust standalone earnings and improving asset quality.
State Bank of India reported its Q3 results for the quarter ended December 31, 2025, showing a 13.06% jump in consolidated net profit to ₹21,317 crore. The bank had earned ₹18,853 crore in the year-ago period and ₹21,137 crore in the preceding September quarter.
On a standalone basis, SBI's net profit rose 24.48% to ₹21,028 crore from ₹16,891 crore a year ago. Total income on a standalone basis rose to ₹1,40,915 crore from ₹1,28,467 crore, while expenses increased to ₹1,08,052 crore from ₹1,04,917 crore in the year-ago period.
Asset quality improved, with gross non-performing assets (NPAs) at 1.57% of gross advances as of December 31, 2025, down from 1.73% in September. Provisions for bad loans stood at ₹4,507 crore, higher than ₹911 crore a year earlier.
Capital adequacy remained solid, with the overall capital adequacy ratio at 14.04% as of December 31, 2025 and a core buffer of 10.99%. The numbers underline SBI's ongoing strength as the country’s largest lender, supported by growth in total income and improved asset quality, even as expenses rise marginally.
