Stalin urges DMK cadres to turn achievements into votes ahead of 2026 polls

In a family wedding in Dharmapuri district on Sunday, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin urged DMK cadres to take the achievements of the Dravida model government to every household in Tamil Nadu and convert them into votes. He highlighted the Vellum Tamil Pengal programme, staged in Chennai on Saturday, which has added 17 lakh women to the Kalaingar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme. If any eligible woman has not benefited, they should appeal; the assistance is set to rise.

Stalin noted that on the same day, a Reserve Bank of India report showed Tamil Nadu recording the highest GSDP growth in the country, a point he used to argue that the government’s development model is delivering results even amid challenges. He said the DMK’s work continues through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) as cadres work tirelessly to ensure voting rights, claiming that half the work is already done and that the party plans to stay in power for the seventh time, with development for Tamil Nadu continuing.

At the function, VCK leader Thol. Thirumavalavan echoed the call for a strong win in 2026 to shield Tamil Nadu's language and land from perceived dangers, while noting ongoing conspiracies against the Dravidian movement. He also questioned external claims about the NDA’s prospects, urging voters to judge outcomes on ground realities rather than rhetoric.

Beyond Tamil Nadu, the DMK has signaled outreach in Puducherry, training Booth Level Agents to push the party line across constituencies, underscoring a broader strategy to widen support ahead of the polls.

Analysts say the campaign is balancing welfare wins with a strong economic narrative, betting that expanded schemes and record growth data will resonate across communities as the 2026 election approaches.
