IndiGo Launches Daily Nonstop Kolkata–Shanghai Flight
IndiGo starts daily nonstop service between Kolkata and Shanghai using A320neo jets, boosting India-China connectivity for business and leisure travelers.
IndiGo on Sunday launched its inaugural daily nonstop service between Kolkata and Shanghai, marking a significant step in strengthening air connectivity between India and China. The Kolkata to Shanghai flight will depart at 9:45 pm and reach Shanghai at 4:40 am the next day, while the return leg leaves Shanghai at 5:40 am and arrives in Kolkata at 9:05 am. The route will be operated with Airbus A320neo aircraft, noted for fuel efficiency and passenger comfort. This expansion follows IndiGo’s broader push into China, including the reinstatement of the Kolkata–Guangzhou service. Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, said the new route will facilitate increased business as well as leisure travel opportunities. Alongside existing Delhi and Kolkata–Guangzhou connectivity, IndiGo now offers 21 weekly flights to mainland China.
