India approves ₹25,060-crore Export Promotion Mission to boost MSMEs
The government approves a six-year Export Promotion Mission worth ₹25,060 crore to boost MSME exports, with two sub-schemes to ease finance, compliance, and market access.
The government has approved a six-year Export Promotion Mission with an outlay of ₹25,060 crore, spanning FY2025-26 to FY2030-31. It will be implemented through two sub-schemes: Niryat Protsahan (₹10,401 crore) and Niryat Disha (₹14,659 crore). The move aims to shore up India's export ecosystem and help exporters navigate tariff challenges in key markets.
Under Niryat Protsahan, MSMEs will get better access to affordable trade finance via instruments such as interest subvention, export factoring, collateral guarantees, credit cards for e-commerce exporters, and credit enhancement for diversification into new markets.
Under Niryat Disha, the focus shifts to non-financial enablers like export quality and compliance support, assistance for international branding, packaging, participation in trade fairs, export warehousing and logistics, inland transport reimbursements, and trade intelligence and capacity-building initiatives.
Officials say the mission will directly address structural bottlenecks—high finance costs and compliance hurdles—by making the export ecosystem more competitive, particularly for textiles, leather, gems and jewellery, engineering goods, and marine products. It is intended to help Indian exporters withstand tariff escalations in major markets and improve market access and visibility for Indian products.
The government expects the scheme to facilitate access to financing, raise export readiness, and boost the resilience of domestic suppliers, ultimately contributing to stronger exports.
