Bengal CM: Left & TMC "Destroyed" Hindu Culture! BJP Aims to Restore Heritage

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has made strong allegations, claiming that the successive Left Front and Trinamool Congress (TMC) governments systematically tried to dismantle the rich cultural traditions of Bengali Hindus in the state. Speaking at a Ganesh Puja inauguration in Kestopur, Adhikari asserted that the current BJP administration is committed to restoring the "heritage and traditions" associated with them.

Adhikari pointed to nearly five decades of alleged cultural erosion, encompassing the 34-year Left Front rule and the 15 years of the TMC government.

He claimed that during the Left's tenure, traditional Hindu practices, religious texts, and festivals were deliberately sidelined.

He even alleged that Communist leaders' books like Karl Marx and Lenin could be found at Puja pandals, while works by revered figures such as Swami Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Mission were conspicuously absent.

The Chief Minister also didn't shy away from criticizing the TMC, alleging that their 15-year rule saw attempts to "create divisions" among people based on religion, language, and festivals. Without directly naming former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Adhikari referenced past restrictions on Durga idol immersions due to Muharram, promising that under BJP, "Whatever is written in the almanac will be followed during the Durga Puja festival." He affirmed the BJP's goal to revive the traditional calendar and practices linked to Durga Puja.

In a poignant moment, Adhikari also brought attention to the distressing situation of incarcerated Bangladeshi Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das Prabhu. Photographs recently surfaced showing the monk grieving beside his mother's mortal remains, which Adhikari said had "moved 'sanatanis' across the world." This statement comes shortly after the Trinamool Congress criticized the BJP for its perceived silence on the monk's plight.

Adhikari also recalled the suffering of people from erstwhile East Pakistan during the Partition, framing the current issues within a larger historical context of preserving identity.

He urged everyone to unite in safeguarding their identity, religion, heritage, and traditions.
