This Morning's beloved Alison Hammond gives fans an update after her live TV health scare, revealing a suspected panic attack. Get all the details!
Beloved ITV presenter Alison Hammond has reassured fans she is now back home and “feeling so much better” after a worrying incident during Friday’s live broadcast of ‘This Morning’ led to a hospital visit. The 51-year-old star left the show midway through, appearing to clutch her chest, prompting concern from viewers and her co-host Dermot O'Leary.
O'Leary, 53, initially informed viewers that Alison was “feeling a little unwell” and had to step out. Later, he confirmed she would not be returning for the rest of the programme. The incident sparked a flurry of messages from concerned fans across social media.
Hammond later took to Instagram on Saturday to share an update, confirming she had undergone tests and received an “all-clear” from the hospital. She revealed her belief that she had experienced a “massive panic attack on live TV.”
It felt very real to me. I'm really new to panic attacks, so I need to learn more about it,
she candidly shared in her video message.
The Birmingham-born presenter, also known for co-hosting 'The Great British Bake Off' and 'For the Love of Dogs', expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the NHS staff, her ITV colleagues, and especially Dermot O'Leary for their support.
It's really warmed my heart actually. I didn't necessarily want to be on the news or anything like that but this is a new world to me,
she said, touched by the outpouring of love.
She plans to “take stock, take some rest” before returning to her busy schedule. Alison joined 'This Morning' as a co-host in 2021, having previously gained fame on shows like 'Big Brother' and 'Strictly Come Dancing'.
