Two nab ganja peddlers near Hebbal; Bengaluru cops arrest another in Kengeri
Bengaluru police cracked two ganja cases: two men detained near Hebbal with 2.93 kg of ganja worth ₹2.09 lakh, and one arrest in Kengeri for 560 g.
Bengaluru police cracked down on a ganja network with a raid near Hebbal, resulting in two men being caught for allegedly selling the narcotic to customers on a two-wheeler. The operation, conducted on December 13 near V. Naganahalli close to a railway track, led to the seizure of 2.93 kg of ganja and the confiscation of the two-wheeler used in the alleged sale. Police say the accused procured ganja at low cost from unidentified sources and sold it at higher prices, with the total value of the seized items estimated at ₹2.09 lakh. Both suspects have been booked under the NDPS Act and remanded to judicial custody. Further investigations are underway to trace the contraband’s source and to identify others involved in the network.
In a separate operation, Kengeri police arrested one person on December 11 for allegedly selling ganja near the helipad close to the Kengeri Satellite Club. Acting on a tip-off, officers conducted a raid and seized 560 grams of ganja valued at around ₹60,000. The accused was reportedly supplying ganja to construction workers and local youths. A case has been registered under the NDPS Act, 1985, and the individual has been remanded to judicial custody. Ongoing inquiries aim to uncover wider links and distribution channels connected to this case.
