IGL Cuts Piped Cooking Gas Prices in Delhi-NCR by ₹0.70/SCM
IGL trims domestic PNG rates in Delhi-NCR by ₹0.70 per scm as PNGRB tariff rationalisation takes effect in 2026.
Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL) has announced a price cut on domestic piped natural gas (PNG) for households in Delhi and the NCR, reducing the tariff by ₹0.70 per standard cubic metre (scm). The revised rates will come into effect from Thursday, 1 January 2026.
Delhi will see a price of ₹47.89 per scm, Gurugram ₹46.70 per scm, and Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad ₹47.76 per scm.
The cut follows the regulator PNGRB's rationalisation of pipeline tariffs, which reduces the number of distance-based tariff zones from three to two, with a Zone-1 rate around ₹54 per million British thermal units (mmBtu) applied nationwide for CNG and domestic PNG customers regardless of distance from the gas source.
Think Gas and other players have also announced reductions in PNG and CNG prices after the tariff changes, signaling a broader shift in the city gas distribution sector that could ease household energy bills as the New Year begins.
