The 55-year-old singer, known for his prolific career, has embarked on an "epic adventure" through New Zealand for his latest television series, "Gary Barlow’s Food And Wine Tour: New Zealand."
In this new six-part series, Barlow teams up with comedian Jason Manford, travelling across the stunning landscapes of New Zealand. Their mission? To sample exquisite food and wine, meet local producers, talented chefs, and passionate winemakers, and discover how these culinary experiences connect people, stories, and the natural world.
Barlow articulated his deep connection to wine, explaining, "Anything that’s homegrown is what attracts me. I guess my attraction with wine is the same reason I’m into music. Wine is like a passion." He drew a poignant parallel, noting that much like musicians, vineyard owners are often driven by love rather than financial gain. "Whenever you go to these vineyards, they’re not there for the money... They’re there because they love it. It’s a passion. It’s the way that music has been for me, that’s what’s always drawn me to wine."
Having presented various food and travel programmes in recent years, Barlow clearly enjoys immersing himself in these experiences. He shared, "When I’m doing any of these trips to watch and listen to people who are passionate about what they do, I just love that. I want to be constantly surrounded by it."
