GRAP Stage-IV: Gurugram Tightens Office Hours, WFH Urged
Gurugram adopts Stage-IV GRAP measures, adjusting government and municipal office hours and urging 50% remote work as air quality worsens in Delhi-NCR.
Gurugram joined the Delhi-NCR push to curb pollution as the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) invoked Stage-IV of the Graded Response Action Plan. The move comes as air quality deteriorates, prompting authorities to tighten controls and reduce outdoor activity.
Under the new guidance, state government offices in Gurugram will operate from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm, municipal offices from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Private sector offices are urged to allow 50% of staff to work from home until further notice, a precaution aimed at cutting traffic and emissions.
The changes will remain in place during GRAP Stage 4 until further notice. The CAQM's invocation of Stage-IV in Delhi-NCR follows earlier steps in the national capital region and signals a coordinated effort to manage the worsening air quality across the region.
Residents and businesses are advised to monitor official advisories, limit outdoor exposure on days of poor air quality and follow best practices to protect health as the situation evolves.
