Kate Hudson, her fiancé Danny Fujikawa, and a full Hudson clan — including Goldie Hawn, Kurt Russell, Oliver Hudson, Wyatt Russell and Wyatt's wife Meredith Hagner — stepped out in Aspen for a special screening of Song Sung Blue, with Neil Diamond in attendance alongside his wife, Katie McNeil Diamond. The Aspen gathering highlighted the holiday season, a tradition for the family who often spend Christmas in the Colorado resort town. The film opens in theaters on Dec. 25.
Song Sung Blue follows Mike and Claire Sardina, the Milwaukee-based couple behind the Neil Diamond tribute band Lightning & Thunder, as they move from two down-on-their-luck musicians to a successful touring act. Kate Hudson stars in the film alongside Hugh Jackman, Michael Imperioli, Ella Anderson, King Princess, Mustafa Shakir, Hudson Hensley, Fisher Stevens and Jim Belushi.
At the New York City premiere on Dec. 11, Hudson joked with Jackman about a potential Lightning & Thunder concert tour, hinting at a future artsy-musical project. The Aspen screening underscores the Hudsons’ holiday tradition in Colorado, where Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have owned a home for decades. Song Sung Blue hits theaters Dec. 25.
