Hull City has been hit with a significant £30,000 fine by the Football Association following homophobic chanting by some of its supporters during an FA Cup match against Chelsea earlier this year. The club highlighted that the "rent boy" chant is recognized as a homophobic slur and its use could even constitute a hate crime. Three supporters who were identified as having engaged in the homophobic chanting have already been banned by Hull City for a minimum of three years.
The club issued a stark warning, stating that individuals found using this chant may face arrest and criminal charges. Ahead of their upcoming Premier League match against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, Hull City reiterated its firm stance.
