Get ready for Eurovision 2027! Burgas, Bulgaria, has been officially chosen as the host city after Dara's historic win. Expect a vibrant celebration of music and culture on the Black Sea coast!
The highly anticipated host city and venue for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest have finally been revealed, bringing excitement to fans across Europe and beyond. Bulgaria's picturesque Black Sea city, Burgas, will have the honor of hosting the 71st edition of the beloved music competition.
This momentous decision follows a historic win for Bulgaria at this year's contest, where pop sensation Dara secured the country's first-ever Eurovision victory with her electrifying track, ‘Bangaranga’. Her triumph paved the way for Bulgaria to host the prestigious event, fulfilling a long-held dream for the nation.
The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) confirmed that Arena Burgas will be the stage for Eurovision 2027. This modern sports and entertainment venue, opened in 2023, boasts a capacity of up to 15,000 spectators, promising an unforgettable live experience for attendees.
Burgas, Bulgaria’s fourth-largest city, is renowned for its stunning beaches, lush parks, vibrant cultural scene, and lively summer events. The city already has a strong reputation for successfully hosting numerous music, arts, and international cultural festivals, making it an ideal choice for an event of Eurovision’s magnitude.
The selection process was highly competitive, involving four Bulgarian cities vying for the honor. Representatives from BNT and the EBU collaborated with international experts, conducting thorough reviews of proposals, visiting potential venues, and engaging with municipal teams before making their final decision.
Martin Green CBE, Director of the Eurovision Song Contest, expressed his delight regarding the choice: “We are delighted that Burgas will be the Host City for the Eurovision Song Contest 2027.” He further added, “Burgas brings something really special to the Eurovision Song Contest. It is a vibrant, welcoming city on the Black Sea with a strong musical and cultural identity, and it has the ambition, infrastructure and passion needed to welcome the Eurovision family.” Green emphasized the vision for Bulgaria’s first Eurovision, aiming to create an event that is “truly Bulgarian while also being unmistakably Eurovision, a celebration.”
