Millions Missing from Delhi Voter List! Check Your Name NOW

More than 47.56 lakh names have been excluded from Delhi's draft electoral roll, sparking concerns among residents. The recently published list from the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer indicates a massive clean-up ahead of upcoming elections.

A significant majority of these exclusions, precisely 31.59 lakh names, have been marked as 'permanently shifted'.

This means election officials believe these voters have moved residences.

Another 11.73 lakh individuals are categorised as 'untraceable/absent', while 2.82 lakh names were removed due to being marked 'dead'.

Disturbingly, 22,918 of those marked 'dead' are below 40 years of age.

Additionally, 1.41 lakh entries were flagged as 'duplicate' or 'already enrolled'.

An analysis reveals a strong pattern in these exclusions. In over 1,000 polling booths across Delhi, more than 95% of the removals were attributed to a single reason, primarily 'permanently shifted'. These booths are heavily concentrated in districts like South East (216 booths) and South (204 booths), with North East also seeing significant numbers.

Constituencies such as Deoli, Tughlaqabad, Okhla, Karawal Nagar, Kasturba Nagar, and Mustafabad are particularly affected.

A substantial portion of those marked 'permanently shifted' are young voters, with over 10 lakh individuals aged between 30 and 39 years.

For citizens whose names might be missing from the Delhi SIR draft roll, it's crucial to check the lists published by the Delhi Chief Electoral Officer. If your name is not included, or if you believe it has been wrongly excluded, you will need to follow the prescribed procedure to ensure your right to vote is protected.

The Delhi High Court recently dismissed a plea concerning the exclusion of homeless individuals from these rolls, underscoring the importance for every citizen to verify their electoral status proactively.
