The couple are in the country for a private tour that blends charitable engagements with carefully curated public appearances. It’s their first trip to Australia since 2018. On the same day Meghan filmed in Melbourne, Prince Harry joined players from an Australian Rules football team for a lesson in how to play the game, and he also visited the Australian War Memorial in Canberra. The couple have more scheduled engagements in Melbourne on Thursday before travelling to Sydney.
Meghan’s visit also included a stop at a women’s refuge in Melbourne, where she served plates of frittata to residents as part of her day’s activities. In parallel, event organizers are promoting a separate weekend in Sydney featuring an “in-person conversation” with Meghan for women, with VIP packages including a group photo. Tickets for this weekend can reach up to A$3,199. It is not known what the duchess will be paid for her involvement in the Sydney event, and similar questions have been raised about compensation for the MasterChef appearance.
