Man/Woman/Chainsaw Unveil Debut Cannonball with Nosedive Lead

London art-punks Man/Woman/Chainsaw have revealed their debut album, Cannonball, set for release on 7 August via Fiction Records, along with the lead single, Nosedive. Emmie-Mae Avery, who leads the vocals on the track, explains that it’s a song about longing for both comfort and freedom simultaneously in a relationship, using the metaphor of an injured bird needing shelter. The track was recorded at RAK Studios with producers Seth Evans and Margo Broom, who also worked on previous singles Adam & Steve and the LP opener Only Girl, and they oversaw the entire 11-track LP, which the band describe as a collection of bangers. Drummer Lola Cherry adds, “We were talking about having a whole record of bangers – having everything be really in your face.” Formed when the members were 16 and writing in a converted vicarage, Man/Woman/Chainsaw sold out two UK tours in 2025, including a night at London’s Scala. They have since played sessions for KEXP and BBC 6 Music, and appeared at SXSW in Austin. The LP will be available on eco-mix black vinyl, a limited edition berry coloured LP with signed insert, and a Rough Trade exclusive blue and clear splatter edition paired with a bonus 7-inch. The band play UK and European festivals across summer, including Latitude on 25 July and Rock En Seine on 29 August, before a UK and Ireland headline tour in September and October.
