He argued that the adversary cannot win a direct contest and instead relies on covert operations to spread fear and influence public life across the country. The comment comes as security agencies continue probing the Delhi blast and assess how to prevent similar threats in major cities.
Fadnavis said Pakistan’s approach in recent years shows a preference for indirect methods over open confrontation, using proxy networks to carry out activities that destabilize internal security without inviting a straight military response. He emphasized the need for a robust, preventative security framework that can disrupt such networks before they can execute attacks, and he urged policymakers to consider lessons from past actions and plans that could deter future threats.
Citing a model he described as a decisive, Modi-approved approach known as Operation Sindoor, the chief minister argued that stronger, preemptive actions at the right time could have reduced or prevented major terror incidents. He suggested that if there had been such decisive intervention after earlier shocks, India might not have faced significant attacks like the Pahalgam incident in Baisaran meadow, where 26 civilians were killed. While he did not specify a new operation, his reference underscored a call for expedited, well-coordinated counterterrorism measures and stronger diplomatic and security postures.
The remarks reflect a broader debate about how India should respond to cross-border terrorism and proxy activity, especially as investigations into the Delhi blast continue.
