Naidu reviews Amaravati capital works, stresses timelines and quality
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister reviews Amaravati capital works, urging strict timelines, high quality and green-tech focus as work moves toward the monsoon.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu conducted a high-level review at his camp office in Undavalli, Guntur district, focusing on the Amaravati capital project. Officials said works worth ₹57,821 crore are underway across housing, roads, trunk infrastructure, and LPS infrastructure, in addition to the Assembly, High Court and Secretariat. The CRDA had resolved disputes linked to works stalled or cancelled during the previous government, and tender processes were completed despite rising construction costs. About 20,000 workers and experts are currently engaged in the ongoing works.
Naidu directed agencies to adhere to weekly and monthly targets to ensure timely completion, especially for works scheduled before the monsoon. He stressed that building the capital city should be treated as a historic responsibility and an opportunity to create world-class infrastructure. He urged maintaining high quality standards, adopting cost-effective measures, and leveraging green energy and advanced technologies. Officials reviewed project progress and discussed manpower deployment, machinery usage, and gaps between requirements and actual utilization.
Attendees included Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development P. Narayana, senior CRDA and Amaravati Development Corporation officials, and representatives of various construction firms. The CM emphasized that the capital’s development represents a rare opportunity and those involved will be part of history.
